NBA Betting Online: Oklahoma City went into Monday’s game against the Mavericks as four-point favorites to even the Eastern Conference Finals at two games apiece, and with five minutes left in the fourth quarter, seemed to be cruising to a victory and a cover of the spread. However, Dallas used a 17-2 run in the final 4:48 of the game to extinguish a 15-point deficit and force overtime, eventually capturing a 112-105 victory. It was a stunning turn of events, as Dallas covered the spread for the 17th time in 18 games, this one the most improbable of the bunch. The Mavericks also paid off on the money line, where they were +165 underdogs. Oklahoma City was a minus-185 favorite to win the game since it was at home.
The scoring line was set at 196 points, and the teams combined to top the number at the end of regulation, and then just piled on in overtime. That is the third time in this series that the ‘over’ has been hit. The only time the total points finished ‘under’ was the 93-87 Mavericks victory in Game 3.
Dirk Nowitzki was the offensive star for the Mavericks, scoring 40 points on 12-of-20 from the field. Jason Kidd added 17, including a crucial 3-pointer in overtime. Jason Terry had 20 points off the bench. Kevin Durant led five Thunder players with 29 points, and he added 15 rebounds. Russell Westbrook had 19 points, eight assists and eight rebounds. This was a crushing defeat for Oklahoma City, which was mere minutes away from tying this series at two games apiece. Instead, the Mavericks head home for Game 5 with a chance to close it out and gain a berth in the NBA Finals. Dallas has been extremely lucrative for gamblers that have ridden them in the postseason. It’s time to jump on that train for Game 5 and the rest of the 2011 NBA Playoffs basketball odds.
